If I have a complaint, what can I do to address it?

A. Normally, depending on the nature of the complaint, you would be directed to the specific department supervisor whose department appears to be contributing to the source of the problem. The Director of Nursing and/or the Resident Services Director can also be contacted for any issue or concern. This may include the involvement of the facility Administrator to assist in resolving the complaint, if deemed necessary. As a facility, we can only address a complaint when we are informed and then are aware, there is a complaint. We will make every reasonable effort to resolve resident/customer complaints, especially if it is determined that it requires some changes be made on our part to resolve the complaint. If you believe your complaint is not being addressed or is being ignored, you always have the right to contact the Iowa Department of Inspection & Appeals and/or the state Ombudsman’s Office, which is overseen by the Department of Aging (formerly called Elder Affairs).
